"Our fellow knights who fell in the service of queen, country, and the protestant church...we salute you!!" You, Seras, and the remainder of the Hellsing staff saluted your fallen comrades as the rain poured over your forms, a solemn look adorning all of your faces while you recalled the events that occurred days before. After you awoke from the little nap Alucard forced you to have, Seras informed you of what had happened with them and of all the casualties Hellsing had to endure. Never in your life have you felt so awful until that point. If you weren't injured then maybe you could have helped save the people you worked with.

However, Alucard found this thought of yours idiotic and pretty much ordered you to forget about the Hellsing break in. But how could you forget when you felt like you should have done something instead of becoming the damsel in distress with Alucard acting as your dark knight. You wanted to prove yourself, darn it! You wanted to show Alucard that you could not only defend yourself, but your friends as well. But that wasn't going to happen until this blasted leg injury of yours healed. So for now you would wait until your time came in which you could prove your strength to everyone, especially to the No Life King.

(Several Days Later)

"So, we're getting new recruits now?" you asked Seras as she helped you walk towards the room the new mercenary team was residing in. Integra was in there as well, entertaining them with several explanations and witty comments about what Hellsing was all about. Seras was supposed to have been in there already, but since you wanted to meet your new team mates you pretty much forced her to be your temporary crutch. The job was originally Alucards, but he was currently on lock down, something you found great relief in.

"Uh huh. Sir Integra felt that we needed to rebuild our headquarters, starting with new staff members," she answered as you both walked up to the door.

"Yeah, we definitely need more members. Do you know what they're like? I mean skill wise and all."

"I heard they were professionals!"

"Seriously?!"

"Yeah!" The conversation ended the moment you both walked into the room as quietly as possible. When you and Seras took refuge against a wall, Integra continued to speak with the mercenaries; none of them having acknowledged the both of you yet.

"You must be barmy!!" yelled the leader of the mercenary team, his french accent making you giggle. "Zhere's no way vampires exist in zhis world..." Integra sighed.

"You simply don't know. No, to be accurate, you simply have not been informed. The Hellsing Organization was formed one hundred years ago. We have conducted our operations beneath an unsuspecting populace as an instrument in the war against vampires. It's hard to understand no matter how I say it. So behold," she pointed towards you both or more specifically to the person beside you, "that is your enemy, a vampire." They all turned to look at Seras and you decided to move aside so as to not confuse anyone. You were obviously not a vampire, but if someone mistook you for one you wouldn't know whether to take it as a compliment (because of Seras) or as an insult (because of Alucard [1]). So for now you would stand aside and watch the show from your spot; doing everything in your power to become one with the wall.

The room was filled with tension as the leader of the mercenaries stepped forward to examine Seras. He gave her a once over and finally asked, "you're...a vampire?" The draculina smiled sheepishly, a single fang gleaming under the light.

"Uh...yeah...something of the sort..." Everyone but you, Integra, and Seras laughed. Really, they didn't think she was serious? "I knew they'd laugh at me..." she muttered towards Integra.

"And laugh they do."

"Shouldn't master be here with me?"

"No. He wouldn't rest until they were all dead and he would then choose to have sex with Ms. ________ on the bloody remains." You instantly lifted your head up at the mention of your name.

"What?" They both turned to you.

"Nothing."

"Oh, uh...okay then?" Once your attention was diverted, Integra looked back at Seras and pointed at the mercenary team, who were still laughing at the poor, young vampire.

"Fine! Show them some proof, police girl. Open their eyes for them."

"Ro-roger!" Seras turned to them with a grin. "Now then..." She contemplated on how she was going to convince them. She wouldn't do anything drastic, like drinking someone's blood or anything, oh no. The blood drinking thing was more of her master's area of expertise, but she had to think of something, anything! She thought about it some more until the leader took a step forward. That was when the idea came to her. She knew what to do now. The french leader continued to move forward as he laughed aloud at her determined look.

"Hah hah hah hah hah haaa! If, if, if you're a vampire zhen I'm bloody Frankenstein's monster! Hahahaha!"

"Tou!" THWAP!

"HN! GUOHH!" You jumped the moment the Frenchman's body hit the ground. He was bested by Seras and she didn't even do that much except what, poke him?

"I challenge you, captain. And I'm only allowed to flick my fingers." Oh, well you were close.

"Wha-what?!" The men in the room stared at the girl in utter shock, wondering how she was able to hurt their leader with just a small flick of the finger. You couldn't help but frown at their confused looks. Really? Integra's info didn't tip them off?

"Tou!" Another flick of the wrist and the captain was out of here.

"C-captain!!" his men cried in astonishment.

"She's...a freak...!" The captain's insulting comment made you twitch, but it would seem he wasn't finished speaking yet. "Can't see 'er at all...can't even sense 'er! All she did was flick me but my 'ead's spinnin'!" Yeah, that's basically how strong a vampire could be. Well at least Seras strong.

"Right so...like she said, I'm a vampire." The captain gulped and slowly sat up from his place on the floor.

"You're really...a vampire?" He suddenly turned his attention towards you. "W-what about you? I saw you enter zhe room with 'er, what are you?" You blinked and stared at the man in mild surprise. You didn't think he actually noticed you at all.

"I'm human, just like you. But I've worked with vampires for a couple of days now so it's not that bad." He seemed to digest your words and began to stand.

"I see. But why are you 'ere? You don't look like zhe kind of person to actually be in zhis line of work. You're just so-," he looked you up and down, "-innocent looking."

"Yeah well it wasn't really my choice to work here. You see I was-"

"There you are, my flower." You screamed the moment Alucard's gloved hands wrapped themselves around your body...from the freaking wall!

"AHHH~! Seras! Seras! The walls have evolved! They don't just have ears anymore! They've grown limbs!! Help me, please~!!!" The young vampire just stared at you in distraught and pity as you struggled in her master's hold. She honestly didn't know whether or not to help you out. If she did she felt her master would punish her for doing so.

"If you so much as try anything, police girl, I will personally see to it that you get the worst possible training regiment of your undead life." She called it. She totally called it. After the warning, Alucard turned his attention towards the Frenchman once you calmed down. "Anyways, to answer your question, of course the police girl is a vampire. However, among us she's the lowest of the low, but she's still obviously a vampire."

"UWAHHHHAHH! GYAHAAAAAA!" Every one of the mercenaries ignored his words and chose to scream instead.

"Not much in the way of guts. Will they be of any use to us?" the sneaky vampire asked Integra. You ripped yourself out of his iron like hold and turned to answer his question.

"Well what do you expect? They just saw a man come out of the wall as if it were a natural experience. If I were them I'd probably have done the same thing."

"Well you did scream." You flushed.

"Yeah, but that was because you were groping me through the wall!!"

"I wasn't groping you, I was hugging you."

"Around my boobs?!"

"It was a very intimate hug."

"Why you-!!"

"Alucard!" The vampire hunter turned to stare at Walter, who looked to be out of breath. Walter looked to Integra and bowed to her in apology, obviously feeling guilty for letting Alucard get away. "My humble apologies, my lady. I tried to stop him."

"Walter..." Everyone turned to look at Alucard. "They'll be guarding my bed. I want to see what manner of men they are." You had to admit that you were still curious of their skill. Maybe Integra would show them to the shooting range so you could finally witness the mercenaries prowess.

"That aside," Walter spoke up, "my lady."

"What is it?" She asked.

"This was sent to us." He held a letter out for her to take and she inspected it curiously.

"A letter...?"

"Notice the sender, if you would." She looked and flinched in surprise. Walter grinned. "Yes."

"Vatican Section XIII...the Iscariot Agency?!"

(September 10th, London. The Imperial War Museum)

As you leaned against your new crutch to help support your weight, you stared in awe at the paintings with Walter and Integra standing beside you. You all were currently waiting for the Iscariot leader to show up, but they were running a little late. That was okay, though. You really didn't mind waiting. I mean some of these paintings were magnificent, especially the one with the spears. It kinda...reminded you of a dream. One you had when you were but a little girl.

"________." You blinked at the sudden voice and turned to the source. Walter stood beside you with a worried look on his face. What...happened to you just now? "Are you alright? You spaced out a moment there."

"Oh uh, yeah. Yeah I'm fine, no need to worry, Walter." He sent you a smile.

"If you say so, ________." The silence returned once he moved back to Integra's side. You were beginning to wish you were with Seras right now, but she was busy doing...something; you honestly didn't know what this time.

"What time is it, Walter?" Integra asked. He flipped open his pocket watch and sighed.

"Right. It is just about three o' clock."

"...They invited us and now they're late. I doubt this, but they may have lured us out into a trap."

"No. Regardless of who and what they are I do not think they would try anything in public, broad daylight, and in the middle of hostile territory." He did have a point. The sound of distant voices suddenly came through the air.

"I tell you, that monophone was simply amazing. I leave it to the Imperial War Museum to do such quality restoration."

"Indeed, you are quite correct." You all turned to the voices of two newcomers and found a man with long, white hair talking casually with a priest. "Certainly a lot of planes here, too," the priest brought up.

"That was the first time I've ever seen a zero!! What beautiful form. Yes, yes." They both finally turned to notice you three. "Oh my, perhaps we're late." The man with long hair murmured towards his friend.

"So it appears." The man looked back towards you all and cleared his throat, embarrassed for having to make you all wait for him.

"Hello, hello. It seems I've kept you waiting." He slowly walked over to shake Integra's hand, but she hissed at him before he could.

"That's close enough. What in the world does the Vatican want? More over, the Annihilation Agency Iscariot, a name to hush a crying child!" Dear lord was Integra upset. But the man merely smiled and removed his glasses.

"Ahh, this will not do. You seem to hold quite the grudge. First, I should greet you. My name is Maxwell, and I am the head of Iscariot. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

"What's your business here?! Self introductions are meaningless!!" Maxwell laughed sheepishly and lifted his arms in surrender.

"Please, there is no need for such a tone. We are not here to fight with you today."

"You expect me to believe that?! You dispatched your agent Anderson to Badrick in North Ireland in GRAVE violation of treaty! He severely injured a new recruit and murdered two of our men!! And he was a mere step away from killing me as well! Don't tell me you've forgotten!!"

"So, what of it?!" You all flinched, Integra's eyes widening at him in offense.

"...I beg your pardon?!"

"We come to you humbly and you throw it in our faces. I couldn't care less if some rat got hurt or if two or two billion of damned protestant swabs have died." It was your turn to gape at the man. Yo, dude! You, the new freakin' recruit, was standin' right there in front of him!! "Do you think I would bother talking to the likes of you filth were it not his holiness' direct order? So shut your mouth and listen well. You protestant sow."

"Sow?!" You yelped and turned to look over at the devilish vampire hitman who unexpectedly appeared from out of nowhere. When did he even get here, anyways?! He phased out of the wall and looked over towards Maxwell. "That's what I'd expect from the infamous Section XIII. Always trying to impose their peace and laws on everyone else. Those at the top squelching any who oppose their power. Nothing ever changes. Nothing's ever changed in Rome these past 2000 years."

"The Nosferatu Alucard," Maxwell smirked, "Hellsing's trashman!! The killer joker!! I've not seen you in the flesh. Greetings, Alucard."

"Greetings, Maxwell. And farewell." Alucard slowly drew his Casull from within his trench coat and glared over at Maxwell from behind his sunglasses. "You. You just called my master a sow and my queen a rat." Maxwell blinked. Queen? "Don't think that I'll let you leave this country alive." Alucard aimed the Casull at the Iscariot leader and sneered, "you're as good as dead, human!!"

Even though he was just threatened by the almighty vampire king, Maxwell showed no sign of fear. Instead, he smiled as if it were an everyday occurrence.

"Ohh, how frightening. We will never get anywhere with such a scary bodyguard waving a gun around. I say it again, we are here simply to speak with you. But if THAT is how you want it...we must follow suit...in order for us to retain equal footing." What? "AAANNDERSONN!" A horrible chill ran down your spine at the mention of the psycho priest's name and everyone stared down the hall to spot the violent man as he frighteningly stood there with bayonets drawn. Oh god, you did not want to go through this again! Your leg hadn't even healed yet! While you panicked, Anderson made his way towards you all, muttering to himself as he menacingly brought up his weapons.

Maxwell, when Anderson was close enough, heard the deadly priest's words and quickly went to stop him.

"N-no! Stop it, Anderson!!" You hid behind Walter as the man continued to walk.

"A' will be settled wi just a blow. Whit good's Iscariot, or the Vatican, if we let an enemy slip oot o' oor grasp?!"

"There's no need for violence!! STOP THIS!!" But Anderson didn't listen. When reasoning failed Maxwell looked to Integra. "He's lost all control now that he's seen you. Go! Leave this place for now! We'll try once again to-" The sound of two guns clicking caught everyone's attention and you all turned to see Alucard, whose sunglasses and fedora somehow mysteriously disappeared (or fell off), smiling like a crazed lunatic.

"Heheheheh! Heheheheheh. Yes!! Let us kill, Judas priest!" Alucard growled.

"Hahaah, hahahahahahh. Jus like last time, vampire." Anderson pushed up his glasses and readied his bayonets, Alucard also readying his deadly weapons.

"N--! NO!!" With another one of Maxwell's cries of protest, you finally couldn't take it anymore.

"ALUCARD!!!" You swiftly lunged at the vampire, who obviously wasn't expecting you to do anything, and crashed your feather soft lips onto his. The whole room just seemed to freeze. D-did you just...did YOU just KISS Alucard?! What...what even was this?! You kept your lips firmly latched onto his and attempted to try and goad him into kissing you back, but he just stood there. This was literally the only idea you had on distracting the vampire and you felt that you only had a 50/50 chance of either getting a good result out of this or a bad one. Whichever one you got, someone wasn't going to be happy.

(Alucard P.O.V)

The nosferatu stood like a statue as you continued to kiss him. He honestly shut down the moment your lips made contact with his. He didn't expect you of all people to do anything intimate to him in...well ever! He was always the one to initiate a kiss and now that you were the one doing it he felt like he was in a dream. Was this really happening? Were you really kissing him? Or was this some horrible nightmare he only wished to wake up fro-what were you doing with your legs? You slowly wrapped your good and bad leg around his waist and Alucard's arms, almost mechanically, came up to support you. .......Alucard initiating make out sequence in 3...2...

"Mmph!" Your back was forcefully slammed into the nearest wall as Alucard ravaged your mouth senseless, his fangs and tongue impatiently asking for entrance which you had yet to grant him. Sanity dwindling, Alucard slipped one of his hands down to your butt and gave it a hard pinch. You gasped in surprise and Alucard took this moment to slip his tongue into your mouth. His swift and keen muscle made quick work to map out the entire cavern, strangely paying close attention to your canines until it moved away to charm your tongue into a forbidden dance.

"Sir Integra," Maxwell asked as he stared curiously at the couple, "may I ask who that girl is?" Integra eyed him in suspicion.

"Why do you want to know?"

"She's the queen Alucard mentioned earlier, isn't she?"

"..." she sighed, "yes. He's developed a sort of obsession with her ever since he rescued her from a rogue vampire. He's never stopped bothering her ever since..."

"I see. So they are destined mates." She turned to stare at him.

"Destined what?" He shook his head and put a finger to his lips.

"Not now. I'll discuss it with you later. For now we should-" Double doors slammed open and Seras jumped into the room with a smile.

"All right then, everyone! Here we have the painting gallery!" she yelled out towards a group of elderly people. She took in the sights before her, not quite surprised to see Anderson with bayonets in his hands or sir Integra with Walter and some other men, but what did surprise her was her master practically molesting you in the middle of the museum. Had he no shame?! ...Stupid question to ask.

"Ehh? Now why d'you suppose this priest has them sword thingies?" An elderly man asked his friend as he inspected Anderson.

"Oh, I'll bet this is that 'Advantgarde' stuff! My grand kids love it." The people then moved to look at you and Alucard.

"Dear, dear! Look at what these two are doing!" Your eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. They weren't seriously going to do what you thought they were going to do, were they?

"Takes ya back to when we were their age, doesn't it, honey?" Damn it. You felt Alucard smirk against your lips and groaned in response. Your discomfort amused him greatly and that only seemed to further upset you. Suddenly, you heard a few distinctly familiar clicks. What was that? You turned back towards the crowd and nearly cried out in death and despair. They were taking pictures!!!

"They're just so adorable~! Ah, to be young again." No...

"They just look so perfect together! Hey, I think I hear wedding bells in the distance~!" No no no...

"I bet their kids would be gorgeous~!!" OH HELL NO!

"Mmm-phwah!" You ripped your lips from the hitman's in an instant.

"WE AREN'T TOGETHER!!!" Your loud and obnoxious shout caused the elderly group to turn from you, to Alucard, and then back to you so they could send you a look that clearly said, "really?"

"Sweetheart, the day you actually believe what you just said will be the day pigs fly." You turned to glare at an old man.

"Well excuse me for not liking someone!"

"But you do like him. It's written all over your face." You blushed.

"No it isn't! Besides, why should I like him? He follows me around no matter where I go. He tries to either kiss or grope me when he hasn't even asked me out yet. And he has the audacity to continue calling me his when I never agreed to anything. He's nuts!" you ranted, but the old man still looked skeptical. What the heck did he not get from that?!

"Tell me, sweetheart," the man started as he switched his cane to a different hand, "does he shower you with affection more than any other man did in your entire life?"

"Well yes, but-"

"And does he give you gifts when it really wasn't necessary?"

"Yes, but that was-"

"And lastly, does he try anything in his power, in his very being, to make sure that you're safely protected from anything that would cause you harm?"

"...yes?" He sighed when you didn't seem to get what he was saying.

"So, look at your man one more time-"

"He's not my man."

"-and tell me what you see." You shrugged and did as you were told. What you saw was Alucard sulking with all of the old ladies cooing and comforting him from the hurtful things you said.

You turned back to the old man, "I see a man surrounded by elderly women."

"That, sweetheart, is a man in love. He does all these things for you, to prove how much he cares, but you try to ignore his efforts because you're in denial."

"I am not!" He swiftly pointed his cane at you.

"Yes, you are. You deny his affections, because you're afraid. You fear that the moment you accept his offerings, either he will change or you will. You've been thrown into something that you're not used to and that frightens you."

"..."

"Tell me, is it the commitment that scares you?"

"...no."

"Then what is it?"

"...I'm...not even sure anymore." With a shaky breath, you turned away from everyone and ran (at least tried to with a crutch). Seras called out to you as you turned a corner and went to catch up to you. Everyone stared after the two of you as you left and they all felt both sympathy and pity for you. You were too young to be dealing with this sort of problem by yourself, but you were too confused and scared to have any form of help. Alucard wanted nothing more than to follow after you and comfort you, but his presence would only make things worse. So he would leave you alone until you sought him out (which he highly doubted you would do, but the man could only hope).

"Alucard." The hitman blinked and looked over at Anderson.

"What?"

"Ah've lost interest." Yeah, so did he, but that was long when his queen began to make out with him and he agreed that, that was the best distraction he's ever experienced in his undead life.

"Yes, this is no atmosphere for fighting." Alucard looked back to the direction you ran in one more time before he turned to leave. "I'm going back to bed," he told his master, who stared after him in shock. He was really leaving? Just like that?

"Wha-?!"

"And your guard duty?" Walter asked the hitman.

"With Anderson gone, old Walter will be more than sufficient alone. Being up all day makes me sleepy."

"And what about ________? aren't you worried about her?" Alucard stopped himself from phasing through the wall and sighed.

"Of course I'm worried about her, but my presence will only further upset the poor thing. So instead, I'll let the police girl handle this one. I mean the subject is centered around female territory anyways." And he phased through the wall, abruptly ending the conversation. Well okay then. After watching him leave, Anderson turned around and headed towards the exit.

"Ah'll be heading back tae Rome afore ye," he told Maxwell. Said man sweat dropped and nodded his head.

"I see."

"This is ae nice museum. Let's bring the children fae the orphanage next time." The sweat drop grew in size.

"By all means." Anderson nodded his head and walked on, but not without muttering a few words to himself.

"Next time ah kill him. Ah swear it." Once he finally left, Maxwell sighed in relief and turned to Integra.

"It is difficult to talk here," he told her, "why don't we continue this in the cafeteria outside?" Integra frowned.

"Hm?"

"I seem to keep repeating myself, but I have come here to talk."

"...Very well. We will both leave our dreadful subordinates behind. Right? Swine?" Maxwell gave her a nervous chuckle.

"Payback for earlier. Fair enough, I'll endure it!!"

"You'll endure no such thing!" Both of the leaders shot their heads towards the new voice that suddenly interrupted. Their eyes landed on a blond haired woman, with blazing blue eyes glaring over towards Ms. Hellsing, one hand looked to be twitching towards a gun attached to her left hip, while the other was clenched tightly into a fist. Just who on earth was this person? "Stacie?! What are you doing her?!" Integra stared at Maxwell in question. Stacie? Now why does that name sound so familiar? [2]

"I came here with Anderson since he mentioned you were coming here to speak with the director of the Hellsing Organization. I was pretty sure you needed a body guard," Stacie answered.

"But I don't need a body guard anymore. The real danger just left." She sneered.

"You mean that disgusting vampire king was here?! And you didn't even tell me?! I could have killed that bastard and saved us the trouble of ever dealing with him!"

"No, you are not ready to face someone like him. You still need more training. Besides, not even Anderson needed to stop him this time," he snickered.

"What? Then what did?"

"A new Hellsing recruit."

"Hah! Just a recruit? The undead jerk is going soft. I guess that means this new recruit is my main target. I'll take 'em out and enjoy the sight of that horrid vampire suffering." They both laughed.

"Go ahead, Stacie. But be warned, that vampire just might go ballistic so have Anderson there with you while you do that."

"Of course, Father."

"That's my girl~!" Integra gaped. SHE'S his daughter?!

"Wait, wait, wait, you have a daughter?! Since when?! And are you even allowed to have children?" They both stared at Integra for a short while, stared back at each other, and then sent the Hellsing director a smirk.

"Yes, this is my lovely daughter, Stacie Maxwell. I adopted her when she was just a little girl. She lives here in England to keep an eye on Hellsing for us, but there will be some weeks where she comes to visit me in Rome." Stacie smiled.

"I don't just stay here to keep an eye on these people, father. I also have a close friend who lives here, too."

"Ah, yes, the girl. You told me you wanted her to join us. We could probably go and ask her since I'm already here visiting and everything" She beamed.

"Yeah, that'd be great! ________ and I are going to have so much fun working together~!" That was the moment Integra nearly let out a involuntary snicker. ________?! As in her new recruit, ________?! Oh this was just too rich.

"Heheheheheh..." The Maxwell's frowned at her laughter and shot her a mild glare. Just what was so funny? "You're talking about ________? As in, ________ ________? That ________?" Stacie's glare grew fierce.

"Yeah, but how do you know her last name? Are you bastards watching her?! If you are, I swear I'll-"

"She's fine, trust me. In fact, she's doing really well for a girl her age, especially for the line of work she's in."

"Wh-what?"

"Oh! You mean you didn't know what she's been up to for the past few weeks?"

"Look, just get to the point already!"

"She's with us, Ms. Maxwell." The young woman seemed to blanch at the statement. That...that couldn't be true...could it?

"You...you lie!"

"Oh, but I don't. You see, when I was mentioning that "new recruit" earlier, I was referring to ________. And I find it appalling that you would want to kill your own best friend. How awful..."

"L-liar....LIAR! I don't believe you!!"

"Well why don't you go see for yourself? She's with another one of my soldiers here, right now." Stacie scowled.

"Fine! I will go and see, but if it's not her then I will kill them both, ya hear me!" And she left in a huff, her father and Integra watching after her. An uncomfortable silence filled the room and Maxwell turned to Integra, clearing his throat to catch her attention.

"So, uh...shall we be going now?"

"Yes."

(With you and Seras)

"________! ________, wait up!" You frowned and slowed down a bit for your friend. You could never have a moment to yourself, could you? Of course, you never honestly wanted to be alone in the first place, now did you? Of course not. The young draculina huffed and panted when she finally managed to reach you. She was astounded at how far you'd managed to run while you had a leg injury. It was an amazing feat and Seras was impressed by your strength and determination to keep moving forward with or without your head being held high. So amazing the human race was.

"Seras, you alright now?" you asked when she moved to lean against the wall. She let out a heavy sigh and gave you a reassuring smile.

"Yes, I'm alright. But what about you? Are you okay? You just ran off in quite a hurry."

"Yeah, Seras. I'm okay..." She sent you a look, obviously not believing you. You sighed, "okay okay, you got me. I'm just...confused right now."

"About what? Is it about what that man said about master?"

"Yeah, it's about him...and me. Everything that old man said just really got to me and because of that I'm beginning to question things."

"Things? Like what?"

"Like about the small things Alucard does for me and how I react to them or how I actually feel for the man." Seras smiled, thinking this was a confession.

"And what do you feel, ________?"

"I...I feel...jeez, I don't know." She frowned.

"How could you not know? I thought that after the whole Badrick incident you had your feelings sorted out."

"Well, not really. It was after that incident that the questions began to arise. Seras, you know I would hate for anything to happen to Alucard, and his compliments and flirting are very flattering, but he's...well..." this is where your face flushed, "w-well he's just too persistent with that charm of his, a-and he's uh, he's brash and crude during those times where he chooses to embarrass me; or anyone for that matter. And he has stupid (beautiful...)black hair and creepy (gorgeous...) red eyes, and he's...he's...well he's Alucard!"

"Exactly." You blinked. What did she mean by that? And why is she sending you that weird smile?

"Huh?"

"All those things you just listed for my master, they're exactly what makes him Alucard."

"...I'm still not following you here." She giggled.

"I mean, even though you find some of his antics annoying or strange you still admit that you care for him, right?"

"Y-yeah."

"So tell me, if my master didn't do any of those things you hate, would you still notice or care for him?"

"..."

"I didn't think so. You see, if my master wasn't the way he is now you'd probably ignore him throughout all of this. But with it, he has managed to catch your attention and make you smile, if I remember correctly. So all in all, you like master for the way he is." You froze, mind blown. She was right! She was absolutely right!! No matter how much you said you hated his witty comments or his obscene actions (which still only happened to you, sadly), you still cared for him either way. Seras...she really was a good friend, wasn't she?

After getting your thoughts together, you limped over to Seras and gave her a hug, a grateful smile adorning your features. She smiled as well and returned the embrace.

"Thanks, Seras. I feel much better now than I did before."

"You're welcome, ________. And I'm so glad you're feeling better." You laughed, slowly relinquishing your hold on her.

"You know, we should probably get back to the others. They must be worried about us." You started walking back down the hall, Seras following closely behind you.

"Or just you, because you did choose to run while you still needed to heal."

"Hey, I was going through an emotional phase, so don't you judge me!" She laughed.

"I won't! But ________, I wanna ask you something."

"Okay, shoot."

"Well after that little...you know, I just wanted to know how you felt for my master now," BAM! [3] "________! ________! Oh my lord, are you alright?!" You groaned and sat up onto your bottom, face flushed in a deep crimson from Seras' earlier question.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. And uh, to answer your question, Seras," you bit your lip, "I may, maybe, I don't know, possibly might like Alucard. BUT DON'T YOU TELL HIM THAT!!! I swear, the moment he finds out he'll go on some sick blood hunting celebration."

"Oh I'm sure he wouldn't do that. Now come on, we need to return to-"

"________?!" You and Seras looked up to look at a geared up woman panting and gasping as if she had been running a mile. You inspected her facial features closely and gaped.

"Stacie?!"

(With Integra and Maxwell)

The two leaders walked outside and sat down at a nearby table, Walter and the priest standing not too far beside them.

"We know of your situation. You came under attack by organized ghouls and are on the brink of destruction," Maxwell began with a smirk. "And based on what we have heard, you are conducting a frantic search. Also, you have not found what you search for."

"Indeed, that is the cast," Integra murmured solemnly.

"Millennium...right?" She was silent. "This is how to say, very top-secret, but we possess a piece of information about Millennium." That's when she glared at him. How could they know about Millennium when she didn't? It just wasn't possible. "Want me to tell you? Really?" Maxwell asked. "Is that what you wish? Is it really?"

"What do you mean to say?" His smirk widened.

"It is unheard of for us to offer assistance to you infernal protestants. But we thought we would repay the debt we owed you from that treaty violation in Badrick. And we want you to recognize this."

"Fine. You have our consent."

"But that's not quite enough. Not enough for me to tell you." Walter chose that moment to speak up, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"What?" the butler asked. Maxwell looked to him for a short while and then turned back to Integra.

"There is an important word required when you ask something of someone. Please."

"Now you're trying to take advantage of us!"

"WALTER!!" Integra shouted. "We can acquire top-secret Vatican info with just one word. It's not a bad deal. Besides, we are not in a position right now to be choosy. I will even draw straws at this point."

"My lady..." After a short intake of breath, Integra glanced over at Maxwell and sighed.

"Please. I don't care how small a thing it is. Would you tell me? Director of the Special Agency Iscariot, Vatican Section XIII of the Roman Catholic Church. Father Maxwell." The damned man smiled.

"Ok! Ok!! Agreed!! Director of Hellsing, the Order of British Protestant Knights, Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing," he then sat back in his seat comfortably so as to explain his information. "It goes back fifty years ago to World War II. Large numbers of military personnel fled the border from a defeated Nazi Germany. Kameraden bavariana, spider, helper's gates, brother kreuz, nahid, odessa. Such organizations and assorted expatriate Germans assisted in this mass glight. Their primary destinations were the many South American nations sympathetic to the Fatherland."

"What the hell does any of this matter?" Integra cut in. "Anyone with a passing war fetish would know this."

"They all began their movements just before or after the defeat of Germany. That much is certain. Fleeing the country during the war would have been desertion. The Millennium we know is the name of a project and a military unit. They are the ones who carry out the highly classified transfer of resources and personnel for the Nazis. This Millennium has been working diligently since the initial stages of war." Now this was something Hellsing didn't know. Integra stared down at the documents Maxwell brought out during his discussion and gulped down the lump that formed in her throat. Just how on earth did the Iscariot get this information?!

After watching her for a while, Maxwell picked up several papers and spoke again. "They ran around occupied Germany falsifying documents while expanding their resources and gathering promising men of talent. They transported everything to South America...confiscated Jewish property, works of art, precious metals, foreign currency, valuable securities, and so on. From the smallest gold tooth to the largest submarine." Integra was stunned. These people...were... "You wish to know how we know, do you?" Maxwell snickered. "Because the Vatican helped! Considerably!" Of course it did.

Everyone outside was silent. Integra frowned at what she had just heard while Maxwell gave her a cocky smile. So the Vatican finally managed to stump the great Hellsing director. What an amazing day this was~! but as much as he'd love to leave everything like this, he had promised to discuss one more thing with the woman.

"There is one more thing I need to tell you before I go, sir Integra." The director blinked and eyed him warily.

"What? What is it?"

"It is about Alucard and that recruit of yours." Integra seemed to calm down a bit at their mention.

"Oh? Is it about that 'destined mates' thing you brought up earlier?"

"Yes."

"Well then, would you kindly explain what that is? Alucard's actions are starting to become troublesome."

"...I'm afraid there is nothing I nor anyone on this planet could do to stop him." She frowned.

"What?"

"You see, Alucard is going through a stage that most animals go through during their life time. Right now he is trying to court his destined love to be his. Next, if he actually gets her, they will mate. After that, he will go through the dominant, over-protective male stage, which is sort of like the first one, but it's not as violent."

"What do you mean not as violent? What'll Alucard do if something happens to ________?"

"He will go on a killing spree. That's why I'm a little reluctant to let my daughter near either one of them."

"But that doesn't explain something for me. I mean, does this only happen to him? Or all vampires?"

"All vampires. I've seen how protective a vampire male can get over his mate and let's just say the results...weren't pretty." Tension in the air grew as Integra thought of Alucard. Was it even possible for him to become MORE violent than he already was? ...Maybe.

"But how does this happen to other vampires? Alucard told me he was in love with her ever since she appeared in a dream...while he was still human!"

"Ah yes, that was a premonition. People who are destined to become vampires get premonitions of their mates and of their signs of change."

"But...but that still doesn't make sense!"

"Of course it does. Alucard was the first vampire to ever experience the premonition, and soon after the other vampires witnessed it also."

"But how come there are vampires without mates? Alucard's killed many of those."

"Well some vampires just choose to ignore it. They all believe it to be a dream, remember?" Right, and the one thing different between them and Alucard was that the vampire king chose to look for ________. The others didn't.

"Okay...so this only happens to male vampires?"

"No, females can experience the premonition too. They also can get somewhat jealous if another female tries to flirt with their mate. It's basically going to end up like a vampyric cat fight."

"But if females can experience a premonition how come ________ hasn't mentioned it yet?"

"Well, premonitions occur at random moments in a person's life. For ________ it could have happened in her childhood to where she doesn't remember it or it has yet to reveal itself to her. You'll never know until she tells you." Integra sat back in her seat and sighed. Well wasn't this a pickle...jeez, what she'd give to have a cigar right now. She looked back up at Maxwell, who was waiting for her to speak, and sighed once more as she rose up from her chair.

"I think that's enough information, Maxwell. I must return to Hellsing."

He stood up from his seat after, "ah yes, I must also return to Rome. I was only given a small amount of time to be here. Stacie will be most upset with this news." Integra could have shrugged, but being who she was, she refrained from the action.

"Hmph..." And that was all she said as both her and Walter walked away.

(Not too far from where Maxwell and Integra sat)

"It seems zhey've finally discovered us. Millennium." One voice chuckled. His friend picked up a cup of tea and smirked.

"Discovered? Nonsense, they still do not realize a thing."

"Shall ve accelerate our operations?"

"No, not yet. Actually, I vould like some more tea."

".....This promises to be enjoyable, Mein Fuhrer."

"Yes, wery. Wery enjoyable. It vill be conflict. Think about it. I'm certain it vill be a conflict stained vith much blood. Magnificent, isn't it? Conflict...but..."

"Hm?"

"It is possible that zhis ________ person could get in our vay of conflict. Find out vhat you can about her."

"Ja, Mein Fuhrer. Und zhen after zhat?"

"Get rid of her. Her presence on zhis Earth only distracts our main target, und ve can't have zhat, now can ve?"

"No, ve can't."

"That's vhat I thought."
