Literature Text

Two years had passed and you and Gilbert were still talking to each other. You both had reached senior year now, the both of you actually surprised at this, and you both had become really close friends. Gilbert felt like he can tell you anything and not be criticized for his actions. Well, except for that one time when he accidentally made a hornets nest fall into the principals car. For one thing, Gilbert admits that randomly throwing rocks at a tree was probably a bad idea, and that his principal was pretty stupid to leave the hood of his car down.

You agreed with him about the principal leaving the hood down, but you felt that you had to tell him to be a little more careful or else he could get hurt. Gilbert was touched when you thought for his well being, but he would never tell you this, his pride wouldn't allow it. Gilbert continued to send you pictures of his best friend Gilbird, each picture just too cute, and he even sent you pictures of his friends, his little brother Ludwig (who looked way too manly to be called little), and several more pictures of his home and school. But out of all of those pictures, Gilbert never sent you a picture of himself, and you thought that would have been the first thing he'd do once the project was over. Truth is, Gilbert really wanted to send you a picture, but he was waiting for you to make the first move. He wouldn't send his picture until you sent your's first.

Well today was just another regular day for you. You were walking through the halls with Gilberts letter held closely to your chest. You had just recieved it from your mother this morning and were waiting for the right moment to read it, because right now you were in the middle of a discussion with Gilbert about whether or not to come see each other, to finally meet face to face, and Gilbert really wanted to meet you (to flaunt his ego, awesomeness, and charming good looks.). But he didn't want you to spend your money just to meet him. He really was too sweet.

You walked into your English class and took a seat, noticing the smirk your teacher was giving you once she noticed the envelope in your hands. Your new English teacher knew all about the letters you wrote to your pen pal. In fact, she let you write during class most of the time, unless she was giving reviews for tests. She thought it would help improve your writing skills, which it did. Actually you were one of the top students in her class. When Gilbert heard about that, he did his usual laugh and called you a geek, which really offended you, but until the very end of the letter he told you he was proud of you and even asked if you could teach him several words he had heard but never really looked into. He said that even though he was the eldest person in his home, and even if he learned the English language before his brother and was sometimes fluent with it, he still had trouble understanding much larger words. Like, when you mentioned something about phobias, he had no idea what you were talking about.

When you told him that they were fears, he couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. They never taught that in his classes when he was young so he thought there was no point in learning them until you brought it up, but now he wanted your help so he could teach his brother, who was also willing to learn more about the English language. Ludwig wanted to learn for a better opportunity in life. Gilbert wanted to learn so he could understand you better, because if he ever visited you in America or if you ever visited him then he would make sure the conversations you both started would be fun and worth listening to.

"So what did your prussian friend say this time, Ms. (Last name)." You looked up at your English teacher, who was holding a clipboard with the names of all the students she had in her class, and smiled.

"Oh, right now we're talking about who's going to visit who. However, Gilbert won't let me pay for a plane ticket just to visit him. He kept saying something like, "No friend of mine is going to pay a cent just to visit me, no matter how much you want to see me in all my awesome glory! I'll pay for your ticket." And that's when I ended up telling him that he shouldn't do that, but he's a very stubborn man. I just got another letter from him today, and i'm waiting for the right moment to open it." You emphasized what you said by lifting up the envelope. Your teacher chuckled at you and your friends antics. You both seem to be really close.

"Well I hope you both figure something out soon. Winter break starts tomorrow, so you can probably visit him during break."

"Yeah. Gilberts break starts when mine does, so hanging out with him will be a lot more fun. I mean I would hate to have to be there when he still needs to go to school." Your teacher laughed.

"Yeah that would suck, especially if he sees you having fun while he does his homework." You laughed, too.

"Yeah, he'd be so upset!" You both laughed aloud, until the school bell rang. Time to start being serious. The teacher cleared her throat and walked to the front of the class with a faint smile on her face. As she started calling names, you looked down at the envelope and placed it into your backpack. You'd read it during lunch.

(Time skip~!)

Well let's just say you weren't able to read your letter at lunch. After some strange event that ended up sending you to the nurses office, you walked home with a major migraine, and a note gripped tightly in your hand. [1] When you finally made it home, you threw open the front door, gently closed it, and headed towards the restroom to rummage through the medicine cabinet. You needed something to get rid of this headache!
After you took your pill, you sat at the kitchen table and pulled out the envelope from this morning.

"After all that's happened today, I never got to read this. Might as well read it now since nothing's stopping me." You mumbled as you ripped the envelope open. You checked the contents inside and noticed that there were two things inside. You decided to take the letter out first. Gilbert would tell you what the other thing is.

Dear ________,
I know we were discussing the whole plane ticket thing, but I decided to do something that would no doubt get you so angry that when you get here the first thing you'd do is bash my head against a wall. But hear me out first. Okay so I was in class today, just hanging out with my friends and telling them about our predicament, when this British kid comes up to us and starts insulting us (mainly Francis). Anyways, he heard what I was saying and said that I shouldn't have to let a lady pay just to have a friendly visit, or whatever. Then he started spouting out gentlemen crap and even though most of it made me want to take my pencil and jam in through my ears, he had a point. What kind of friend would I be to let another one of my friends pay for her ticket just to visit. So I decided to do the one thing you told me not to do.

You twitched. You had a feeling you knew what he was talking about, but refused to believe it.
"He wouldn't be stupid enough to actually do something I told him not to, right?" ....Stupid question to ask.

Yep, that's right, I bought your plane ticket. I made sure to schedule it right when our break starts. So when you get here, please let me live so I can give my friend an awesome hug! Oh, and Gilbird will be there with me, so even if you try to kill me, he'll be there to stop you with his cuteness, so HA!

You stared at the letter, then at the ticket which you pulled out during the middle of it, and then back at the letter. Time seemed to go by, until you mother finally came home.

"Sweet heart, i'm home! I got a call from your school and-"

"THAT STUPID PRUSSIAN B******!!!!!" Your mother sighed as she closed the door.

"Poor dear, that migraine must be awful."
Ugh, this took way too long to publish! I am so sorry for not finishing this sooner! The reason why it took so long was because I somehow ended up getting writers block for this chapter. I really wanted to get this one over and done with so the reader and Prussia can finally meet in the next chapter. I hope you all enjoy this chapter, because to me it seems like it need more work. And sorry if it's a little on the short side. Like I said, I wanted to finish this chapter quickly for the next one.

[1]: Friends 1 and 2 got into some sort of arguement about a 'double rainbow', a 'robot unicorn', and some other things and they ended up getting into a very animated fight about it. You somehow got caught in the cross fire and had the back of your head slammed against a tree. Your friends apologized repeatedly until you left the school grounds. Luckily for them, you had already forgiven them after the twentieth apology.
